Welcome to the website of the Stanwick Handbell Ringers
We are a twelve strong group who regularly meet and rehearse in the village of Stanwick in rural East Northamptonshire, approximately half way between Peterborough and Northampton. We play a variety of music including popular classics and pieces specially chosen to suit our bells.
Originally founded in 1995, we used the handbells belonging to the village church and worked from an alpha system. In 2002 we received a grant from the National Lottery Awards for All, followed in 2008 by a grant from the Midland Co-op Community Dividend and in 2011 a grant from the Northants Empowering Councillors Scheme. These grants, combined with funds raised by the group enabled us to purchase our three octave set of Whitechapel handbells and associated equipment. We now play from staff notation.
The group is available for booking to play at a variety of functions, you can find full details about this on the site, as well as details about some of our previous engagements. If you think you might be interested in joining us, you are very welcome to visit us on one of our Monday practice evenings. Drop us an email for more details.
Thank you for your interest in our group.
